Way back when he was a kid all Kunal did was talk about cars. Now, much older and maybe a bit wiser, all he still mainly talks about is cars. Some things never seem to change. Except now he also writes about cars when he isn't talking about them.

Kunal is currently the Content Strategist and Editor for Toronto Star Autos and Metroland websites including wheels.ca, thestar.com/autos, mississauga.com, toronto.com, and more.

  1. Review: 2020 Dodge Challenger Scat Pack 392 Widebody – WHEELS.ca

    Kunal Dsouza

I grew up in the late 80s and 90s, so I don’t know what driving was like in the 60s but the Dodge Challenger Scat Pack makes it feel like I was taken back to that era. You get into this impossibly long coupe through a door that opens nearly 90 degrees and step into what you think has got to be a roomy cabin but ends up smaller than you expect. Sort of like a reverse TARDIS.

  2. Review: 2021 Mini Cooper SE – WHEELS.ca

    Kunal Dsouza

The 2021 Mini Cooper SE starts life as a normal 3-door Mini Cooper but under the hood an EV drive unit replaces the gasoline engine. A 32.6 kWh battery pack consisting of 12 modules in a T-shaped unit resides deep in the floor pan helping lower the centre of gravity, while not intruding on passenger or cargo volume.

  3. Review: 2021 Kia K5 GT-Line – WHEELS.ca

    Kunal Dsouza

The Kia K5 is much nicer to drive than the outgoing Optima, and the overall feeling I got from behind the wheel was one of refinement and comfort. Wide seats, tons of room for occupants front and rear, and a quiet, compliant ride are the main attributes to be found.

  4. First Drive: 2021 Nissan Versa – WHEELS.ca

    Kunal Dsouza

First Drive 2021 Nissan Versa: Appreciate that for under $20,000 you can get a brand new, well-engineered little car with a full factory warranty and some really cool tech.

  5. 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor is out to prove it’s still the best desert racer – WHEELS.ca

    Kunal Dsouza

And now there’s a new 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, and for this third generation, Ford has thrown everything they have at it. The timing couldn’t be better either with the recent release of the epically good Ram TRX. Ram also threw everything they had at their truck with the distinct advantage of being able to beat the crap out of a bunch of Ford Raptors and learn exactly where they failed.

  6. Review: 2021 Toyota Venza – WHEELS.ca

    Kunal Dsouza

Review 2021 Toyota Venza: Sitting in between the RAV4 and the Highlander in size and price the Venza starts at just under $40K.

  7. First Drive: 2021 Ram 1500 TRX – WHEELS.ca

    Kunal Dsouza

The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX suspension has been completely replaced: new forged aluminum control arms in the front, new bushings, new links, and new geometry. To fit the standard 35-inch tires the TRX is a full 8 inches wider than a RAM Rebel, easily noticeable when looking at it head-on.

  8. First Drive: 2021 Mazda Mazda3 Turbo – WHEELS.ca

    Kunal Dsouza

Mazda is not positioning this as a competitor to the recent crop of brash hot hatches like the Honda Civic Type R and Hyundai Veloster N. The Mazda3 rates much higher on the maturity scale. There are no big wings or aggressive dive planes to be found here.
